School Homepage

Welcome to San Francisco de Asis Catholic School's Website.

It is my privilege as the principal to introduce you to our wonderful school.   As Arizona's first Catholic school, we were established in 1895.  The current school location, formerly known as Saint Mary’s, was built in 1955, and was considered a regional school. In 1997, all three parishes in Flagstaff were combined to form San Francisco de Asis Parish and our school was brought under the parish umbrella. The new church sits atop McMillan Mesa and the first Mass was celebrated there on February 2, 2013. The parish is currently in the middle of constructing our new school and parish education center that will be adjacent to the church.

The overwhelming sense of family and community along with the Franciscan philosophy and spirit make our school truly unique. Keeping that sense of family and community alive is just one of the many traditions that we continue to foster both in the parish and the school.

Our school provides its students with strong educational programs that are designed to offer them the experience, the knowledge, and the skills that they will need to be contributing members of society.

Knowing and practicing our faith is at the forefront of San Francisco de Asis Catholic School. As a school, we strive to grow closer to Christ.

As we pray to reach that goal, we want to remember the words from Saint Francis:

Let us desire nothing else
let us wish for nothing else
let nothing else please us
and cause us delight
except our Creator and
Redeemer and Savior,
the one true God.

In Christ,
Bill Carroll
Principal
