Prayers for Pope Francis and the Upcoming Conclave

Happy Sunday!

As I write this we are a week removed from the death of Pope Francis. It has been a time of sadness as we remember such a beloved pope. The nine days of mourning ended this past week and in an odd way our attention turns to the conclave to elect the next Successor of St. Peter.

We continue to pray for Pope Francis but also pray for the cardinals as they gather in Rome to begin the next conclave very soon. Please pray daily for the election of a new pope, that the cardinals will be docile to the Holy Spirit during this very beautiful and solemn time.

This week we welcomed Bishop Dolan to celebrate the First Communion and Confirmation of over 90 of our children and adults. We are grateful that the bishop made the trip here to preside at this important event! Thank you so much to Cathy Carlsen, Katherine Buckley, and Michael Vollmer for their work in preparing all those who received Sacraments.

Thank you also to our many wonderful catechists and volunteers who have worked hard all year. We are so grateful for each of you!

Oraciones por el Papa Francisco y el próximo Cónclave

¡Feliz domingo!

Mientras escribo esto, estamos a una semana de la muerte del Papa Francisco. Ha sido un tiempo de tristeza al recordar a un Papa tan amado. Los nueve días de luto terminaron la semana pasada y, de manera extraña, ahora dirigimos nuestra atención al cónclave para elegir al próximo Sucesor de San Pedro.

Seguimos orando por el Papa Francisco, pero también oramos por los cardenales que se reunirán en Roma para comenzar el próximo cónclave muy pronto. Por favor, oren diariamente por la elección de un nuevo Papa y para que los cardenales sean dóciles al Espíritu Santo durante este tiempo tan hermoso y solemne.

Esta semana le dimos la bienvenida al Obispo Dolan para celebrar la Primera Comunión y Confirmación de más de 90 de nuestros niños y adultos. ¡Estamos agradecidos de que el obispo haya viajado hasta aquí para presidir este importante evento! Muchas gracias a Cathy Carlsen, Katherine Buckley y Michael Vollmer por su labor en la preparación de todos los que recibieron los sacramentos.

Gracias también a nuestras maravillosas catequistas y voluntarios que han trabajado arduamente durante todo el año. ¡Estamos muy agradecidos por cada uno de ustedes!
