Reflections on a Joyful Sacramental Celebration and Upcoming Events

Happy Sunday!

Last Saturday, we had a wonderful celebration of First Communion and Confirmation with Bishop Dolan. There were 88 children and adults who received these Sacraments. I am so grateful to our catechists, volunteers, and staff who did such a great job preparing everyone and organizing the day. It was a beautiful celebration and a great witness to the way the Catholic Church is thriving here in Flagstaff.

With these celebrations concluded, we now turn our attention to graduations, summer activities, and more. This year, we will once again host Vacation Bible School and retreats for our teenagers. Keep an eye out in the bulletin for ways to help support these great events.

I am writing this letter on Monday, the 5th. The Conclave to elect the new pope begins (or began) on Wednesday, the 7th. It is possible we will have a new Pope by the time you read this. In any case, please keep the cardinal electors in prayer, or if the Pope has been elected, please keep him in your prayers in a special way as he begins this new ministry.

Reflexiones sobre una celebración sacramental gozosa y próximos eventos

¡Feliz domingo!

El sábado pasado tuvimos una maravillosa celebración de Primera Comunión y Confirmación con el Obispo Dolan. 88 niños y adultos recibieron estos sacramentos. Estoy muy agradecido con nuestros catequistas, voluntarios y personal, quienes hicieron un excelente trabajo preparando a todos y organizando el día. Fue una hermosa celebración y un gran testimonio del progreso de la Iglesia Católica aquí en Flagstaff.

Con estas celebraciones concluidas, ahora nos centramos en las graduaciones, las actividades de verano y más. Este año, una vez más, organizaremos la Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones y retiros para nuestros adolescentes. Estén atentos al boletín para saber cómo pueden apoyar estos magníficos eventos.

Les escribo esta carta el lunes 5. El cónclave para elegir al nuevo papa comienza el miércoles 7. Es posible que tengamos un nuevo papa para cuando lean esto. En cualquier caso, les pido que mantengan en sus oraciones a los cardenales electores, o si el papa ha sido elegido, ténganlo presente de manera especial al comenzar este nuevo ministerio.
