Happy Sunday! Last week I was covering Masses at the Grand Canyon. It was beautiful to be in their chapel in the Grand Canyon Village and in the little chapel at Valle. Their community is so joyful and it was a gift for me to share the Sacraments with them. This week somehow begins September! I can't believe how time flies. Our school year is well underway and we are gearing up for the catechetical year to start. Please keep all of our youngsters in prayer. I am grateful for our awesome school staff and Religious Education staff. Mrs. Thompson and Cathy Carlsen do a great job leading both groups.

This week's Psalm at Mass comes from Psalm 63. It is one of my favorites for it's beautiful imagery of being with God. "Thus have I gazed toward you in the sanctuary to see your power and your glory, for your kindness is a greater good than life; my lips shall glorify you." It always reminds me of God's peacefulness and divine simplicity. May each of us live our lives gazing on the Lord in his sanctuary!

¡Feliz domingo!

La semana pasada estuve oficiando Misas en el Gran Cañón. Fue hermoso estar en su capilla de Grand Canyon Village y en la pequeña capilla de Valle. Su comunidad es tan alegre que fue un regalo para mí compartir los sacramentos con ellos. ¡De alguna manera, esta semana ya comienza septiembre! No puedo creer cómo vuela el tiempo. El año escolar ya está en marcha y nos preparamos para el inicio del año de cate- quesis. Por favor, mantengan a todos nuestros jóvenes en oración. Estoy muy agradecido a nuestro maravilloso personal escolar y al personal de Educación Religiosa. La Sra. Thompson y Cathy Carlsen hacen un excelente trabajo dirigiendo ambos grupos.

El Salmo de la Misa de esta semana es el Salmo 63. Es uno de mis favoritos por las hermosas imágenes que evoca sobre el estar con Dios: "Para admirar tu gloria y tu poder, con este afán te busco en tu santuario. Pues mejor es tu amor que la existencia; siempre, Señor, te alabarán mis labios". Siempre me recuerda la paz de Dios y su divina sencillez. ¡Que cada uno de nosotros viva su vida contemplando al Senor en su santuario!
