Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone had a great week. It’s hard to believe that I’m coming up on just three months back here at SFdA. It has been so good to be here and be the pastor of this wonderful parish. Thank you everyone for being so kind, welcoming, and patient with me. I look forward to many years here!

This Tuesday our school has a fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse restaurant. Please pick up a flyer and bring it to the restaurant Tuesday for dinner and a portion of the bill will be donated to our parish school. These proceeds will go towards the work of the PTG and help fund retreats and other special projects in the school. I plan to be there doing my part (quite the sacrifice, I know) and look forward to seeing those who are able to make it.

This Wednesday is the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul. Please keep all of our Vincentian volunteers in your prayers and the work they do to support the needy of our community. On Friday we celebrate the feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. The angels play a special role of serving God in heaven and also interceding for us in our daily lives. At times God has chosen to work through the archangels for special missions. We think especially of the Archangel Gabriel coming to announce to Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus. With the varied roles they play we can ask for their intercession for daily protection from evil and that we might grow in holiness and one day join them in their eternal chorus of praise.
