Happy Sunday!

Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers in our parish. I hope it is a day of prayer, joy, and rest. It is always a gift to see you coming to Mass with your children and grandchildren. We know that all fatherhood is learned from God the Father who loves us first. This Sunday we hear about the parable of the mustard seed, that tiny seed that becomes the largest of all bushes. The many sacrifices of parents are their own mustard seed. We are grateful today for the sacrifices of the fathers in this community who desire to bear fruit in their families.

I am excited to introduce an opportunity for family prayer to our parish. I would like to invite everyone to join me in a 33-day consecration to Jesus through Mary beginning on August 6 and finishing on September 8, the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. This is a powerful way to invoke the Blessed Mother’s intercession in our lives as we seek to grow closer to her Son. There are a number of different guides for the 33 day consecration. St. Louis de Montfort wrote the classic “Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary”. Fr. Michael Gaitley also has a 33-day consecration. The guide will give you reflections each day in the 33 days leading up to September 8th. On Sunday September 8, we will have Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel open downtown for people to come and make the consecration in the Blessed Mother’s church on her feast day. I am letting you know about this now so you can look up and acquire a 33-day consecration guide that might be suitable to you. I hope everyone will join me in this beautiful practice.

Este fin de semana dimos la bienvenida al Padre Joseph Nguyen celebrará misa aquí como sacerdote! Su ordenación el 1 de junio fue una hermosa experiencia. Damos gracias a Dios por un sacerdote tan maravilloso para nuestra diócesis. Quiero agradecer a todos por ser tan amables, generosos y acogedores con el Padre Joseph el año pasado. Fue un regalo para nuestra parroquia y sé que los ama mucho a cada uno de ustedes. Gracias por su parte en su formación para el sacerdocio.

Esta semana nos estamos preparando para la Vacation Bible School que comenzará el próximo lunes 17 de junio. Gracias a todos nuestros voluntarios, adolescentes y adultos, que están ayudando a que esta sea una semana maravillosa. ¡Mantenga a nuestro equipo en oración mientras se preparan esta semana!

Nuestra peregrinación a Italia sigue llenándose. Esperamos pasar un par de semanas maravillosas en Roma, Asís y San Giovanni Rotundo en octubre. Si está interesado en unirse a nosotros, comuníquese con Ryan Appleberry al 480-695-2597.

Finalmente, quiero agradecer al Padre Peter Dobrowski por toda su ayuda al ayudarme con la misa y las confesiones estos últimos meses desde la partida de Padre Carlos.
